After a long wait, the central committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has approved a partial committee for its Cox’s Bazar district unit, creating renewed enthusiasm among grassroots leaders and activists. According to the announcement made on Saturday (May 2), Fahimur Rahman has been appointed president of the district committee, while Mohammad Saeed Anwar has been named general secretary.

The committee also includes Mohammad Hossain Madu as senior vice-president, Mohammad Jahed Noor Jitu as senior joint general secretary, Syed Muhammad Salman Bappi as joint general secretary, and Ashraf Imran as organizing secretary.

In a statement signed by central JCD President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir, the newly formed committee was instructed to submit a full-fledged committee within the next 30 days. The central leadership also emphasized strengthening and expanding organizational activities across the district.

Reacting to the announcement, newly elected president Fahimur Rahman said the committee would work in unity to strengthen the organization and make it more effective by involving leaders and activists from all levels.

General Secretary Mohammad Saeed Anwar described the responsibility as “the biggest achievement” of his political career and said he would work alongside dedicated activists to further organize the district unit.

The announcement of the new leadership has generated positive expectations among party supporters and local activists, who believe the district unit will gain new momentum through a stronger organizational structure and expanded political activities.
