11 areas in Dhaka declared ‘red zones’ for dengue

Online Desk: Eleven areas of Dhaka metropolitan have been declared ‘Red Zones’ as the number of hospitalised dengue patients is higher in these localities. Of the areas, six are in Dhaka South City Corporation and the remaining five are in Dhaka North City Corporation. Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) director (hospital and clinic) Md Habibul Ahsan Talukder gave this information in a press briefing on Sunday noon. A total of 11 dengue patients died and 2,242 tested positive for dengue on Saturday. The death toll from dengue rose to 167 this year.
