This year, the Bangladesh National Women's Football Team has been selected for the prestigious award. Arts (Painting): Rokeya Sultana
Journalism: Mahfuz Ullah (posthumous), Mahmudur Rahman (also for human rights)
Culture & Education: Dr. Shahidul Alam
Education: Dr. Niaz Zaman
Science & Technology: Mehedi Hasan Khan
Social Service: Mohammad Yusuf Chowdhury (posthumous)
Each recipient will receive a 35-gram gold medal, a certificate of honor, and a cash prize of Tk 400,000.
Since 1976, the Ekushey Padak has been awarded to distinguished writers, artists, educators, language movement veterans, linguists, researchers, journalists, economists, and social activists for their outstanding contributions at the national level. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs selects the recipients for this prestigious award.
