3 polythene factories sealed in city

Online Desk  :  Three factories were sealed and 2,460 kg of polythene have been seized in an operation against illegal polythene manufacturers conducted in Chawkbazar area of Dhaka on Wednesday. A mobile court, led by Executive Magistrate Kazi Tamzid Ahmed of the Department of Environment conducted the operation which was supported by the army, RAB, and police. The government has been enforcing a ban on the use and production of polythene and polypropylene bags in supermarkets since 1 October and in all markets since 1 November.
