Online Desk : Three people, including a father and daughter, were killed in a collision between an ambulance and a passenger van in Jessore. Two others, including the van driver, sustained injuries. The accident occurred around 6:45 am today (March 19) near a filling station in the Nabibnagar area on the Jessore-Benapole highway. The deceased were identified as Hasan Iqbal, 45, and his daughter Ratna Khatun, 14, from Bamnali village in Jhikargachha upazila, and Nazma Khatun, 50, wife of Meher Ali from Gadkhali.
The injured—Hasan Iqbal’s wife, Halima Khatun, 38, and the van driver, Bablu, 35, from Saidpur in Gadkhali—were taken to Jessore General Hospital for treatment. Inspector Roknuzzaman of Navaran Highway Police Outpost said officers reached the scene shortly after the incident. “We recovered three bodies from the site, and one injured woman was taken to Jhikargachha Upazila Health Complex,” he said.
