Online Desk  :  With the 13th national parliamentary elections drawing near, Bangladesh Police has successfully completed an intensive training programme to equip law enforcement personnel nationwide for election duty. So far, a total of 48,000 police officers have undergone specialised training to ensure strict adherence to the rule of law and maintain order during the polls. HM Shahadat Hossain, AIG (Media & PR) at Police Headquarters, stated on Tuesday (4 November) that the training was conducted under strict directives from the Election Commission. Officers and field personnel were instructed on enforcing the electoral code of conduct, maintaining absolute neutrality, managing conflict situations, securing polling stations, and executing coordinated patrols.

“The training aims to reinforce the professionalism, efficiency, and impartiality of the police force during the elections, guaranteeing that voters can exercise their rights in a safe, secure, and peaceful environment,” Shahadat Hossain emphasized. Participants reported that the programme has boosted their readiness and confidence, ensuring they are fully prepared to tackle any challenges that may arise on election day.

Police personnel across all districts, metropolitan areas, ranges, and police stations will serve by turns during the elections. To maintain law and order, the police will operate in close coordination with the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Ansar-VDP, and the Army, Navy, and Air Force, conducting rigorous joint patrols nationwide. Officials confirmed that security measures on the field level are being escalated as the elections draw near, with a focus on preventing unrest and ensuring a smooth, uninterrupted voting process.
