Online Desk : The toll plaza of the Airport area elevated expressway will remain toll-free for the general public for two hours on Thursday to facilitate entry into Dhaka city. According to a press release from chief adviser press wing, vehicles entering the capital through the airport elevated expressway will not be required to pay tolls between 12pm and 2pm.
The move comes ahead of Tarique Rahman’s arrival in the country on 25 December.
According to sources, there is a possibility of a large public gathering tomorrow in the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area, on the roads from the airport to Gulshan, and on the Purbachal Expressway (300 Feet Road), which may result in severe traffic congestion. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is organising a public reception to welcome its Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, who is returning to the country after nearly a decade and a half. Preparations are underway at a 300-feet area in Dhaka’s Purbachal, where a stage is being set up for the event.
