Fire Fire still raging and also spreads to opposite market of Bangabazar, , water shortage hampering work

Online Desk: The fire that originated in a section of Bangabazar Shopping Complex this morning has spread to nearby markets. Fire officials said the fire originated around 6:10am and at least 50 firefighting units are trying to douse it.
“Fire has spread to at least six markets,” said BM Habib, office secretary of Bangabazar Shopping Complex Shop Owners Association. Four markets — Mohanagar Market, Adarsha Market, Gulistan Market and Bangabazar Market — are under the shopping complex. Most of the shops are gutted, he said.
Besides, fire spread to nearby Annex Tower and Islamica Market. Fire officials are now trying to douse the fire there, witnesses said. The fire men are struggling to extinguish the blaze due to water shortage. The blaze is still raging after over three hours.
