The advisory also discouraged Bangladeshis from traveling to Nepal at this time, warning of a volatile security environment and disruptions across key areas. The situation in Nepal escalated sharply on Monday, when thousands of young demonstrators stormed the national parliament building in Kathmandu. Protesters demanded the immediate lifting of a government-imposed ban on 26 social media platforms, including Facebook and YouTube, and called for stronger anti-corruption measures.

Clashes between demonstrators and security forces turned deadly, leaving at least 19 people dead and over 100 injured. The violence spread beyond the capital, affecting several towns and drawing national and international concern. In response, the Nepalese government convened an emergency cabinet meeting late Monday, resulting in the decision to revoke the controversial social media ban. Communications and Information Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung confirmed the move, stating it was made to “address the demands of Gen Z,” according to a BBC report. Despite the lifting of the ban, tensions remain high across the country, prompting multiple foreign missions, including Bangladesh, to issue warnings for their citizens to exercise maximum caution.
