Online Desk  :  All scheduled banks across the country will remain open on May 23 and 24 ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, the Bangladesh Bank said. However, all banking operations will remain closed from May 25 to May 31, according to a press release issued by the central bank on Monday.

The Bangladesh Bank said special arrangements have been made to ensure smooth banking services for the payment of salaries, bonuses and other allowances for garment workers, as well as for import-export related transactions in the industrial sector.

Under the arrangements, limited banking operations will continue on May 25 and 26 in garment industry–focused areas including Dhaka city, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj and Chattogram.
