She made the call during a meeting with BNP leaders, led by its standing committee member Dr Abul Moyeen Khan.

“British High Commissioner Sarah Cooke met BNP leaders to discuss the prevailing political situation,” the High Commission said in a message on its verified Facebook page.

Earlier on Wednesday, Sarah Cooke met Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan and discussed bilateral issues apart from upcoming elections.

During the meeting, she reiterated the UK’s deep concern over the violence and loss of life seen on October 28.
