Country’s first elevated expressway opens to public, huge traffic in Banani-Mahakhali

Online Desk: The elevated expressway’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport-Farmgate section was opened to the public from 6am on Sunday.
Earlier on Saturday (September 2), Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 11.5 km Airport- Farmgate segment of of the expressway and paid the toll at Kawla point as first passenger. Now, passengers can reach Farmgate from Kawla in just 12 minutes.
But it was found in the morning that, huge tailback was created on the Airport Road from 8am. A long traffic was found from Kurmitola to Banani-Mohakhali-Tejgaon via Moghbazar. Some passengers got down from the bus and started on foot.
