Online Desk: Train communication on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route resumed at 8:30am on Monday after repairing the rail line.
Fatema Nagar Railway Station master Alamgir Hossain said, “The communication on the rail line has been suspended for more than 11 hours. The line was cleared around 8:30am. A five-member probe committee has been formed over the incident.”
Three bogies of ‘Agnibina Express’ train veered of the track near Fatema Nagar station at Trishal upazila on Sunday night. Following the accident, the rail link on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route was suspended from 8:45pm.
Mohonganj Express, Jamuna Express and Brahmaputra Express have been stranded at Mymensingh Junction and Goforgaon’s Moshakhali stations since 2am on Monday. “After the derailment, the train went to about 400 meters. Due to huge damage, it took time to repair the railway line,” said Mymensingh Railway assistant executive engineer Md Akram Ali.
