Online Desk : Akhtar Ahmed, Senior Secretary of the Election Commission (EC) has informed that the total number of final polling stations for the 13th National Parliament election across 300 parliamentary constituencies in the country is 42,761. He shared this information with journalists on Monday in front of his office at the Election Commission Bhaban in Agargaon, Dhaka.
The Secretary said, “We have finalized the list of polling stations today. Across 300 parliamentary seats in 64 districts, the total number of polling stations is 42,761.” In terms of rooms, there would be total 2,44,649 voting rooms in the polling centres, among which 1,15,137 rooms would be for male voters and 1,29,602 rooms for female voters, EC Secretary said.
He added that there are initially 14 temporary polling stations, which will have approximately 12,000 voting rooms. On average, each voting room will accommodate around 3,000 voters. These have been designated as ‘catchment areas,’ and the number may be adjusted later if necessary.
