Online Desk : Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has said no matter how independent the EC is said to be, it is not possible to hold an election without the government’s cooperation. “We have to conduct the polls with the cooperation from the government.” He made this remark while briefing reporters after inaugurating a training programme in the capital. AMM Nasir said the EC requires assistance from law enforcement agencies, and administration and its officials to conduct the election. “So, the government will naturally play a key role in the election. It (election) won’t be possible without it,” he said.
“We will discuss the election issue with the government when the time comes. Elections are not possible without the government.”
