Online Desk  : Hasnat Abdullah, chief organizer (Southern region) of Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP), has called for the resignation of current health adviser, accusing her of being a product of nepotism and favouritism linked to Dr. Muhammad Yunus. Speaking at a rally at bus stand area of Chandpur town, Abdullah stated that the adviser has shown no notable performance and does not deserve to hold the position. “We have a health adviser; do you know him? She came in under the ‘brotherhood quota’ of Dr. Yunus. Her appointment is a clear example of nepotism,” said Abdullah.

“We’ve repeatedly said there is no need for this health adviser. Have you seen any meaningful activity from her? The salary she draws is unjustified, the government vehicle she uses is an insult to the taxpayers. She understands neither healthcare nor the medical system. Her only qualification is his connection to Grameen Bank and her closeness to Dr. Yunus.” Turning to broader issues, Abdullah criticized corruption during Sheikh Hasina’s tenure, linking it to recent aviation accidents and infrastructure failures.

“Planes are crashing, buildings are collapsing; this is not the Bangladesh we want,” he said. “The aircraft were purchased during Hasina’s rule and billions were embezzled at that time. The security of our air force personnel must be ensured and equipment safety must be reviewed.” He concluded by urging all citizens, regardless of political affiliation, to unite against what he termed “Awami fascism.” “We are in mourning, but if Awami League tries to use this moment to reassert control, we will turn our grief into strength and resist”, he added. Other NCP leaders, including chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary and northern region chief organizer Sarjis Alam, also addressed the rally.
