Health minister asks DCs to ensure private clinics don’t charge extra

The Daily Morning Voice Online Desk: Health Minister Zahid Maleque today said deputy commissioners were instructed to monitor private clinics to check whether they are charging patients extra. “We’ve requested them to visit private clinics and check whether patients are charged extra and are forced to opt for unnecessary C-sections,” he said at a briefing after a meeting with DCs.
Maleque also said the government is prioritising health service. “Enough infrastructure is being built and equipment is provided. Now our priority is to ensure quality service to patients at Upazila level,” he said.
