Light to moderate rain, thunder showers likely in parts of country

Online Desk : The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds in several parts of the country till 9am on Sunday. According to a BMD bulletin issued on Saturday morning, rain or thunder showers are expected at a few places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions. One or two places in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions may also experience similar weather, with moderately heavy falls in some areas.
Day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged nationwide. The met office further noted that monsoon is currently less active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay. A low-pressure area is also likely to form over the North Bay and adjoining regions around September 24. On Friday, Khulna recorded the country’s highest temperature at 36.2 degrees Celsius, while the lowest was 24.4 degrees Celsius in Bandarban. In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:57 pm on Saturday and rise at 5:47 am on Sunday.
