Lightning strike at Padma Bridge toll plaza triggers technical glitch

Online Desk: Toll collection at the Mawa toll plaza of Padma Bridge was disrupted due to a technical glitch after a lightning bolt struck the toll booth on Tuesday.
Confirming the matter, Padma Bridge Site Office Additional Director Md Amirul Haider Chowdhury said that the lightning struck the plaza between 3:00 am to 4:00 am which triggered a technical glitch to the motherboard of the toll scale.
However, they fixed the issues in the morning, but, it caused a three-kilometre tailback. No vehicles could cross the bridge due to this.
Mawa traffic police said the issue was resolved around 10:30 am and toll collection resumed.
