Man gets death penalty for killing girl in Manikganj

Online Desk: A Manikganj court on Tuesday sentenced a man to death in a case over killing a girl in 2017. District and Sessions Judge Jaishree Samaddar pronounced the judgment in presence of the convict, Abul Hossain, reports UNB. According to the case statement, Abul Hossain gave a proposal to marry Bristy Akter, daughter of Ramzan Ali of Sarbadinagar village of Harirampur upazila of Manikganj. According to the case statement, Abul Hossain gave a proposal to marry Bristy Akter, daughter of Ramzan Ali of Sarbadinagar village of Harirampur upazila of Manikganj. As Bristy’s parents refused the proposal, Abul Hossain hacked her with a sharp weapon on November 5, 2017, leaving Bristy dead on the spot.

Later, a case was registered at Harirampur police station following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother Aklima Begum. On July 10, 2018, Sub-inspector Kohinur Miah, investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet.
