Staff Reporter : RAJUK Chairman Engineer Md. Riazul Islam conducted an on-site inspection of Dhaka’s Hatirjheel area on Tuesday, addressing mounting concerns over traffic congestion and chaotic vehicle movement in one of the city’s key public zones. The visit is part of RAJUK’s broader initiative to transform Hatirjheel into a more organized, eco-friendly, and visitor-friendly urban space. During the inspection, the Chairman expressed strong dissatisfaction over the presence of illegally parked vehicles, which were contributing to severe traffic bottlenecks.  He instructed on-duty police personnel to take immediate measures to clear the obstructions and restore smooth vehicular movement. In a firm directive to the traffic sergeant present, the Chairman stressed the importance of sustained and effective traffic management. Traffic police officials assured full cooperation with RAJUK in enforcing traffic discipline in the area.

Several instances of vehicles moving against the designated traffic flow were also noted during the visit. The drivers were stopped and instructed to follow proper routes. The Chairman further urged Ansar personnel deployed in the area to take a more active role in monitoring traffic and preventing violations. RAJUK engineers, project officials, and other staff involved with the Hatirjheel development project accompanied the Chairman during the inspection. The initiative is seen as a timely and necessary step to restore order in the area and ensure safe, uninterrupted mobility for both residents and visitors.
