The Daily Morning Voice Online Desk: Slow voting in Rangpur City Corporation using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) is a matter of concern, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal said today at a views exchange meeting today. Reporters who covered the polls held on December 27, last year were part of the meeting with CEC.

He said the commission is looking at the reason behind the delay in voting during the polls. “Slowing down of the voting system was a major complaint and in some cases the fingerprints did not match. The delay can be due to many reasons. We will think about it,” CEC Awal said. In several polling stations, voting took place till 8:00pm as many voters were in queue after the scheduled time of closure at 4:30pm.
