Online Desk : US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent Christensen has said the United States will not take sides in the country’s upcoming 13th parliamentary election. He made the remarks on Wednesday afternoon after meeting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin at the Election Commission building. The ambassador, however, did not take questions from the journalists. Brent Christensen said, “The outcome of the election will be decided by the people of this country. The United States will not take sides in the election. The US is ready to work with any government elected through the people’s votes.”
The ambassador also said the CEC briefed him on all election preparations. “I am very interested in the election results,” he added. Earlier, a three-member delegation arrived at the Election Commission building in Agargaon, and the meeting began around 12:00 pm. The US embassy team also included political officer David Mu and Firoz Ahmed.
