Online Desk: Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Saturday said squally weather is unlikely over the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh. Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’z Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to lower signal. All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to proceed with caution till further notice.
Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Tangail, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Kushtia, Khulna, Jashore, Barishal, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar wherein river ports shall hoist cautionary signal no one (repeat ) one, said the Met office forecast that valid for 24 hours commencing 09 am on Saturday.
It said the low pressure area over Northwest Bay and adjoining area now lies over Jharkhand and adjoining North Odisha and adjoining area. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajsthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, the center of the low to Assam across Gangetic West Bengal and southern part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh andDhaka divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country. Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the count, the Met office added.
