The Daily Morning Voice Online Desk: The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Division (CTTC) claimed to have arrested six suspected militants who were inspired by militant group Al Qaeda. The arrestees are Abdur Rob, Md Shakib, Md Shamim Hossain, Md Nadeem Sheikh, Md Abshar and Md Sayeed Uddin. They were arrested in the capital’s Syedabad Bus Terminal, Chattogram and Teknaf yesterday.
CTTC Additional Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman made the disclosure at a press briefing at the DMP’s media centre today. A case was filed against them under the Anti-Terrorism Act. The arrestees and others who were willing to migrate decided to first go to Teknaf and receive training through their local associates, said the CTTC official. They were planning to “wage jihad” for establishing Islamic rule in Bangladesh, Asaduzzaman added.
