Earlier in the morning of the second day, Bangladesh restricted Shreyas Iyer to 86 runs with the strike of Ebadot to score a century. But the host could not keep India at bay as the visitors reached a good score, thanks to a solid partnership of 92 runs at the end between Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav. Ashwin himself made 58 runs while Kuldeep added 40 runs for the visitor team.

Cheteshwar Pujara scored the highest 90 runs for India and wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant play a quick knock of 46 runs off just 45 balls. For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Tijul Islam bagged four wickets each while two pacers Ebadot Hossain and Khaled Ahmed took two more wickets.
