Then Jaker and Mahedi built a 53-run partnership before Mahedi was caught at long off after scoring 33 of 25 balls hitting two boundaries and two maximums. Jakeer kept on going, reached his third T20I half-century and eventually scored 55 before getting caught at long-on in the final delivery of the innings.

He hit one boundary and five maximums during his 48-ball stay. For Pakistan, Salman Mirza, debutant Ahmed Daniyal and Abbas Afridi bagged a brace each.
