Online Desk: Bangladesh sealed their first-ever 10-wicket victory in ODIs when the Tamim Iqbal-led side thrashed Ireland in the final match of the three-game series at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Following a scintillating display by the Bangladesh pacers, who for the first time scalped all 10 wickets in an ODI that saw the Irish get bundled out for 101 in 28.1 overs, openers Tamim and Liton Das helped the Tigers cruise to victory with 221 balls to spare. This is also Bangladesh’s second-biggest win in terms of balls remaining. The Tigers had won by six wickets with 229 balls to spare against Zimbabwe in 2009 in Chattogram.

Bangladesh have won by nine wickets five times in the format, the latest being the thumping win against West Indies in July 2022 in Guyana.

Liton smashed a 38-ball 50, featuring 10 boundaries, while skipper Tamiim scored a run-a-ball 41, including five boundaries and two maximums, to see the Tigers wrap up the series in style. Bangladesh won the three-match series 2-0 with the second game washed out.
