BB addl director’s body found hanging in Mugda house

Online Desk : Police recovered the hanging body of a Bangladesh Bank (BB) additional director from a house in the capital’s Mugda area. Sub-Inspector (SI) Borhan of Mugda Police Station confirmed the matter on Tuesday (June 2) night. The body of Tanvir Hossain Shuvo, an Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank, was recovered at around 10:30 pm from a house at 58/11 North Mugda. It was learned that he lived alone in the residence.
According to SI Borhan, the house owner alerted police after a foul smell began coming from the house. Upon arrival, police broke open the door and found Shuvo’s body hanging inside. Due to the advanced state of decomposition and the strong odor, the body could not be brought down until around 11:00 pm.
The officer said Shuvo is believed to have died two to three days earlier. He added that the landlord last spoke with him on Eid day, and there had been no contact since then. Investigators suspect he died sometime after that conversation.
Police initially suspect the death to be a suicide. However, the exact cause of death will be determined following an autopsy. The matter is currently under investigation.
