The Daily Morning Voice Online Desk: The 27th National Deworming Campaign will begin at primary and secondary schools across the country on January 22. During the 10-day campaign, around 2.6 crore children, aged 5-16 years, will be given one deworming tablet each. There will also be arrangements for the children outside the schools. After successful piloting in three districts in 2005, the government started expanding the programme. Since 2008, the government has been conducting the campaign countrywide regularly. As a result, the prevalence of worm has been reduced to 7.95 percent at present from 80 percent in 2015.
