Online Desk : Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman has said troops deployed across the country during a transition period in 2024 are now returning to their barracks as the situation has returned to normal. He said this while addressing the completion and prize-giving ceremony of the Bangladesh Army Firing Competition-2026 at Cumilla Cantonment on Thursday, May 21.
After performing duties in the field for the country’s needs, troops are gradually returning to their barracks, and the nation will remember their role played during a tough time for the country, Waker said.
Congratulating the winners and runners-up in the competition, the army chief said the skills and excellence the army personnel showed in the firing contest, despite having engaged in field-level duties for a straight 18 months, are commendable.
