3 killed in explosion at Ctg steel re-rolling mill

Online Desk: Thee people were killed and at least 10 injured in an explosion at a steel re-rolling mill in Chattogram’s Sitakunda upazila this afternoon. The blast went off at the oxygen plant of Sheema Automatic Re-Rolling Mills Limited in Kadamrusul area, next to the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway this afternoon, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent quoting police and fire service officials.
Md Nurul Alam Dulal, senior station officer of Sitakunda Fire Service, said they recovered three bodies from the spot. Sitakunda Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Shahadat Hossain said at least 15 people were injured in the blast. Md Lokman, who lives close to the mill, said he heard a sudden explosion that went off inside the oxygen plant around 4:40pm.
