Staff Reporter: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has written to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Police to take legal action against Sony Rangs Electronics Managing Director J Ekram Hossain and four officials on charges of illegal wealth acquisition and money laundering abroad.

In a letter sent to the Additional Inspector General of Police, CID on Sunday (January 21), instructions have been given to take necessary action on the complaint.

A senior ACC source confirmed the matter to Dhaka Post on Tuesday (January 23). It is said that 57 pages of related documents including complaints have been attached to the letter.

According to the letter, Sony Rangos Electronics Managing Director J Ekram Hussain, Deputy Managing Director Binas Hussain, Deputy General Manager Jane Alam and Nazrul Islam have specific allegations of acquiring illegal assets and money laundering abroad.
