Online Desk : A BNP leader has died under the custody of the Bangladesh Army in Chuadanga’s Jibannagar upazila. Deceased Shamsuzzaman Dablu, 50, was the general secretary of the municipality unit. The family and the party leaders and activists alleged that he died of torture. But according to the Army, Dablu suddenly fell sick while he was questioning and later died of stroke.
After his death, a tense situation is prevailing in the area. Dablu died at 12midnight on Monday. Family sources said that members of Army from Chuadanga camp conducted an operation in the area near Upazila Health Complex around 10:30PM and picked up Dablu. He was later kept under Army custody. Around 12 midnight, his death news was reported.
Later, relatives and BNP activists started demonstrating raising allegations against the Army. Meanwhile, the Army claimed they picked up Dablu for quizzing as they recovered a foreign pistol and four rounds of bullets from him.
