2 workers die falling from under-construction building in Dhaka

Online Desk: Two construction workers died and two others were injured after falling from an under-construction building in Dhaka’s Aftabnagar area this morning.
The deceased were identified as Rabiul Islam, 37, and Md Sumon, 38. The incident took place around 11:00 am on road-4 of block G, said the co-workers of the victims. The four workers were plastering the exterior wall on the third floor of the six-storey building, standing on a scaffold. They fell down when the rope of the scaffold snapped, said Delwar Hossain, one of their co-workers.
They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Rabiul and Sumon dead, he said. The injured — Saif Hasan, 24, and Kamal Hasan, 23, are receiving treatment at the hospital. Inspector Bachchu Mia, in charge of DMCH Police Outpost, confirmed the deaths and said the bodies were sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
