Online Desk: A Supreme Court lawyer has filed an application bringing an allegation of contempt of court against the BNP-backed lawyers over file throwing incident and chaos inside the court centring a High Court order to remove BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman’s statements from online. Adv Nahid Sultana Juthi filed the application before the Appellate Division on Tuesday.

On Monday, Justice Md Khasruzzaman and Justice Md Khairul Alam left the courtroom amid a commotion between Awami League and BNP-backed lawyers following a court order to remove BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman’s statements from online.

Later, the two Justices started the court proceedings after over three hours. The same bench ordered Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to remove BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman’s all speeches from online.

Addressing Justice Khasruzzaman, the BNP lawyers said, “You have issued an order against Tarique Rahman within 30 seconds of hearing the statement of one side. This will be an ignominious chapter in the history of the judiciary. You ruined the court.”
