The Daily Morning Voice Online Desk: The International Crimes Tribunal on Monday sentenced six people to death for committing crimes against humanity in Mymensingh during the Liberation War in 1971. The condemned convicts are Md Mokhlesur Rahman Mukul, Md Saidul Rahman Ratan, Shamsul Haque Fakir, Nurul Haque Fakir, Md Sultan Mahmud Fakir and Nakib Hossain Adil Sarker. All of them are fugitive.
A three-member tribunal, headed by Justice Md Shahinur Islam, handed down the verdict. Several charges including kidnap, murder, torture have been brought against the convicts. An investigation against the death row convicts started on January 26, 2017. The probe report was submitted on December 31, 2017. The trial proceeding of the case began on December 5, 2018, through charge framing.
