Online Desk  : BNP chairman Tarique Rahman on Sunday called for moving away from what he described as “politics of criticism,” saying development would not be possible if political parties remained focused on blaming rivals. Speaking at a BNP-organised mass rally at Chattogram’s Polo Ground, Tarique said voters were seeking change and the restoration of political rights.

“We can criticise our opponents endlessly, but that will not fill anyone’s stomach,” he said. “There will be no development for the people of the country if politics revolves only around criticism.” The BNP Chairman said that if the party comes to power, BNP will dig 1 lakh canals and establish healthcare centers. Chattogram will be developed as a commercial capital.

After nearly 20 years, Tarique Rahman visited Chattogram, which has generated great enthusiasm among party leaders and activists. The entire field and key areas of the city have become vibrant with banners, festoons, and party slogans.

Since this morning, leaders and activists have taken positions not only at the rally venue but also along the surrounding roads. From areas such as Tiger Pass, Dewan Hat, Agrabad, CRB, WASA, Old Railway Station, Kadamtali, Kazir Dewri, Riazuddin Bazar, and New Market, BNP leaders and activists have been marching in small processions along nearly one and a half kilometers of road leading to the rally venue.
