CA orders rapid probe into attack on Osman Hadi

Online Desk : Chief Adviser of the interim government Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed deep concern over the shooting of Inqilab Manch spokesperson and Dhaka-8 independent candidate Sharif Osman Hadi in the capital’s Bijoynagar area. Calling the attack “completely unacceptable” during an election period, the Chief Adviser said such violence is extremely unfortunate for the country’s peaceful political environment. He has instructed authorities to ensure the highest level of medical care for the injured Osman Hadi and directed the Ministry of Health to closely monitor his treatment. At the same time, the Chief Adviser ordered law enforcement agencies to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to identify and apprehend everyone involved in the attack.
He emphasised the need to collect evidence from the scene, record eyewitness accounts, review CCTV footage, and determine whether the incident was part of any organised plan. “No act of violence aimed at disrupting the election will be tolerated,” Professor Yunus said. “It is our responsibility to ensure public safety and the free movement of candidates. Whoever is responsible will be brought under the law.” He urged all political parties, activists, supporters and citizens to maintain calm and refrain from any activity that could escalate tensions during the election period.
