Assets looted for 16 years in guise of development : Tarique Rahman

Online Desk : Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman said that over the last 16 years, public assets have been looted and siphoned abroad in the name of development. He made the remarks on Thursday while addressing a rally at the Government Alia Madrasah ground in Sylhet.
Highlighting that conspirators are still active, he said, “We must remain aware of those who are conspiring at home and abroad. The people of the country have already united to thwart conspiracies, and they will do so again in the future.”
Earlier, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman took to the stage at around 12:30 pm. This was the BNP’s first election rally. The formal program of the rally began at around 10:45 am with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
The venue was filled to capacity as leaders, activists and supporters gathered in large numbers. Several hours before the scheduled time, party leaders and activists had already occupied the ground and taken positions on the surrounding streets.
