Online Desk : Meteorologist Mostofa Kamal Palash has forecast a high likelihood of a cyclone developing over the Bay of Bengal sometime between May 23 and May 28. In a post on his verified Facebook page on Sunday, he noted that the cyclone, if formed, would be named Shakti — a name contributed by Sri Lanka.
He added that the system may make landfall between May 24 and May 26, with potential impact stretching from India’s Odisha coast to Bangladesh’s Chattogram coast. However, West Bengal and Bangladesh’s Khulna division appear to be the areas most at risk, according to his assessment.
