Online Desk  :   The police foiled the program of Hizb ut-Tahrir(banned in Bangladesh) in Dhaka’s Baitul Mukarram Mosque area on Friday afternoon. Earlier, the organization announced holding a rally titled “March for Khilafah” in the area after Jumma prayers, prompting police to come up with a warning that they would consider all kinds of activities of the outfit as a punishable offense. However, amid the heightened security, Hizb ut-Tahrir members brought out a procession from Paltan and marched towards Bijaynagar, while police personnel tear-gassed and used sound grenades to disperse them.

The law enforcers chased and baton-charged the outfit’s members as they attempted to gather again to bring out a procession. Some 10-15 operatives of the banned outfit were detained.
