Online Desk : The National Parliament Secretariat has issued a gazette notification appointing six members of parliament as whips in the National Parliament. The notification, issued on Monday, stated that under Article 3(1) of the Bangladesh Whips Ordinance, 1972, the president has appointed six lawmakers as whips of the Jatiya Sangsad, reports The Daily Sun.
The newly appointed whips are: Alhaj Md GK Gauch (Habiganj-3), Rafiqul Islam (Khulna-3), Mia Nuruddin Ahmed Apu (Shariatpur-3), Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu (Natore-2), Md Akhtaruzzaman Mia (Dinajpur-4), and ABM Ashraf Uddin Nijan (Lakshmipur-4).
The appointments take immediate effect, according to the official notification.
