JaPa-backed Sikder Anisur Rahman to contest Dhaka-17 by-polls

Online Desk: Jatiya Party (JaPa) has nominated Major (retd) Sikder Anisur Rahman to contest the by-elections to Dhaka-17 constituency. The party chairman’s press secretary-2 Khandaker Delwar Jalali confirmed the matter to a news portal on Wednesday.

The constituency fell vacant following the death of actor Akbar Hossain Pathan Farooque. The Dhaka-17 Constituency encompasses the areas of Gulshan, Banani, Bhashantek police station, and the Cantonment area.

According to the schedule, the election will be conducted using ballot papers. Aspiring candidates can submit their nomination papers until June 15. The upcoming by-polls in the Dhaka-17 constituency is scheduled to be held on July 17.
