Online Desk: Bangladesh has slipped 11 notches to rank 129th among 143 countries in the latest World Happiness Report.
Last year, Bangladesh was ranked 118th and, in 2022, its position was in the 94th spot, according to local news portals.
The World Happiness Report is published annually by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network. The report, which marks the United Nations International Day of Happiness on March 20, draws on global survey data from people in more than 140 countries, reports CNN.
As per the report, Finland is the happiest country in the world for the seventh consecutive year.
Countries are ranked on happiness based on their average life evaluations over the three preceding years, in this case, 2021–2023. The report is a partnership of Gallup, the Oxford Wellbeing Research Centre, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and an editorial board.
This year’s report is the first to include separate rankings by age group, and it brings bad news about life satisfaction among young people in some parts of the world.
