Online Desk : A milad mahfil was held at BNP party office at city’s K D Ghosh Road here today marking the 80th birth anniversary of former prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and salvation of the departed soul of all martyrs who were killed during the anti-discrimination students’ movement. Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Khulna district unit arranged the milad mahfil. A large number of people from all walks of life including BNP and its leaders and activists joined the Milad and Doa Mahfil.
Convener of Khulna district unit BNP Alhaj Amir Ezaz Khan, member secretary Monirul Hasan Bappy, joint conveners Saifur Rahman Mintu, Rafique Mallick, Shamim Kabir, Ashikul Alam Nannu, President of Mahila Jatiyatabadi Dal advocate Taslima Khatun Chhanda and city unit BJP president advocate Latifur Rahman Labu, among others, attended the mahfil.
The Milad Mahfil was followed by a special prayer seeking divine blessings of Almighty Allah for early recovery and long life of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, eternal peace and salvation of departed souls of Shaheed president Ziaur Rahman and all the martyrs killed in the recent anti-discrimination student movement.
Besides, a doa mahfil was also held for the salvation of the departed soul of Advocate Gazi Abdul Bari, founder general secretary of Khulna district BNP and former general secretary of Khulna Lawyers Association. Advocate Bari died on Thursday in city medical college hospital due to old age complications.
